Invading the Trop: Rangers Win 11-5

This was a very long game (that’s what I get for being excited about a start before 6pm), the Rangers took care of business early and never relented the lead. As much as they tried…they just could not lose this one. Derek Holland took the mound in this one and was supported by the Rangers guns. Instead of my traditional recap, I’ll just post a few of my thoughts on the game.

*Mike Napoli – 3 for 6 and 5 RBIs – Napoli was really outstanding for the second game in a row, Napoli picked up two home runs in this game. Hopefully we continue to see this Mike Napoli as he picked up where he left off on Sunday.

*Mitch Moreland – 2 for 4 and a Home Run – The ball that Moreland hit in the 4th inning still hasn’t landed. It was a monster shot that left me with my mouth open.

*Everyone on the Rangers offense had a hit in this game, they are clicking on all cylinders after the return of Nelson Cruz and Josh Hamilton

*Derek Holland finally picked up a decision in this game earning the win. Despite allowing 5 hits and 5 runs in a little over five innings, the team really put some offense behind him. The only really bright moment was the strikeout pitch to end the first inning, it was an excellent curveball that just stunned the hitter.

This was another game where the Rangers had to use more of the bullpen then they would have liked. Look for C.J. Wilson to pitch as close to a complete game as he can tomorrow, Wilson will face off against Andy Sonnanstine.
