Recently Texas Rangers Manager Ron Washington said they he believes Cuban baseball phenomenon Leonys Martin needs another full year in AAA ball before competing for the starting center fielder position. Based on his performance and his age I think every inning in AAA ball will make him that much more ready for the Rangers next year. The question that comes up again and again is what to do in with the center field position.

On top of the remarks that Washington made on Martin, slugger and the Ranger most in need of an internal mute button Josh Hamilton stated his preference to play center field. As much as Hamilton may want to play center he makes more sense in left field with his chronic injury history and the need of the club to keep his legs healthy for an attempt at an entire season playing. That leaves the three current choices at Craig Gentry, David Murphy and Julio Borbon. While I have written on the subject of the center field I have had a change of heart.
