I cannot say this enough Spring Training games do not matter. Yes the Texas Rangers are having a less than stellar spring currently having a record of 3-6 but this is no reason to call the season a loss and look forward to 2013. To put this year in perspective in the 2011 Spring Training the Texas Rangers had a record of 10-19 good for dead last in both the American League and the Cactus League. Yet they went on to a pretty good season.

That being said today I want to look at the Rangers catchers who have seen time this spring. They are Mike Napoli, Yorvit Torrealba, Luis Martinez, Dusty Brown, Tommy Mendonca, and Chris Robinson. Mike Napoli and Yorvit Torrealba will surely start the season in the majors. AAA Round Rock will likely have some arrangement if two if not all three of Robinson, Brown and Martinez. Tommy Mendonca will attempt to complete the conversion from being a third baseman to being a catcher while at AA Frisco. To see how they are comparing for their respective roster position the 2012 Spring Training stats so far will be the guide.
