8:00 am – #Mariners biggest wild card at meetings. Could sign Cruz, trade for #Rays‘ Price and/or #Dodgers‘ Kemp. Jack Z on Hot Stove this AM.

Major update 10:02 am – Teams that have talked with the Rangers in the last 24 hours say TEX feels Shin-Soo Choo is going to be far too expensive for them.  – Buster Olney

10:33 am – More reports say Choo is asking for similar money to what Jacoby Ellsbury received

This could mean the Rangers will try to re-sign Nelson Cruz.

11:24 am – Angels, Dbacks, WhiteSox working on deal involving Mark Trumbo and Tyler Skaggs, sources tell @Alden_Gonzalez. Clubs have not confirmed.  Also Pirates working on James Loney.

11:41 am – Diamondback aggressive with Choo.  Rangers could still be in, but it’s unlikely.  Rangers still have internal options for the outfield.

– Curtis Granderson introduced as a Met.  Will wear number 3.

– If Diamondbacks trade for Trumbo, the possible landing spots for FA outfielders will shrink by one team. Ice getting thin under FA’s feet. – Buster Olney

12:31 pm – David Ortiz wins DH of the Year for the seventh time.

12:48 pm – ESPN’s Jayson Stark tweets that the Rays are interested in Mitch Moreland of the Rangers and notes that a swap of Moreland and Matt Joyce is a possibility.

1:22 pm -Hector Santiago is involved in 3-way White Sox, Angels, DBacks deal, source confirms. Trade is close to being finalized. – Jon Morosi

1:43 pm – Scott Boras calls Shin-Soo Choo and Texas “a good fit.”

2:04 pm – Diamondback to acquire Trumbo via trade from the Angels.  Does this heat up the rumors about Choo and Rangers?

2:13pm – It was speculated that the Rangers would look at Bartolo Colon.  Jeff Wilson now reports the Rangers are interested.  This could be a good option.  David Price would cost too much in cash and trade value.

3:49 pm – the Arencibia signing if official.  Rangers still quiet.

5:04 pm -“@Ken_Rosenthal: #Angels lost first-round picks each of last two years for Pujols, Hamilton. Will not do same with Jimenez, Santana, etc.”

5:05pm – Rangers have said Arencibia will back up Soto.  But things can change between now and opening day.  Don’t be surprised if Arencibia starts
