In a move that many people found bizarre, the Texas Rangers drafted Seattle Seahawks star quarterback Russell Wilson in the rule 5 draft from the Colorado Rockies. This isn’t the first time a football player has been drafted by a MLB team. The Texas Rangers also drafted Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston earlier this year.

Russell Wilson said he was excited to be drafted again and actually wants to come to camp to talk to his baseball team. “I’m sure I’ll go down there for spring training and just talk to some of the players and hangout with some of them. It’d be kind of a cool experience” Wilson said. It would be fun to see Wilson at spring training and I think it is cool that he is interested in going to Arizona and talking to the team, especially with the way the Seahawks season is going right now. I would have to say they are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. If he does go on to at least make it to the Super Bowl, he could have some real insight on playing under pressure.

Even though this doesn’t really mean much, it is still note worthy and kind of fun to talk about. The second baseman will probably never play in a Texas Rangers uniform, but it is a slight possibility and interesting.
