Texas Ranger catcher Geovany Soto experienced some discomfort and soreness yesterday during spring training. The Rangers staff continues to be cautions and limited him to just some catching and hitting.
Also, Geovany Soto will not do any running today due to some Achilles soreness. He will catch and hit, but no baserunning.

But, there is not word yet how serious it is, but it continues to be an issue today.

Also, today, Evan Grant reports that Geovany Soto will be heading to Dallas to have it looked at. I wonder if him and Matt Harrison will catch the same flight? Harrison is heading back to have his back looked at by the same doctor that preformed his back surgeries.
Geo Soto will have his ankle further examined in Dallas.

So far this has been a rough spring training for the Rangers. They are without several pitchers, now a catcher. But, don’t worry yet. Reports are not in from the doctors yet, lets stay positive and hope for the best. Washington commented when Harrison went out that he’s not worried yet. He’s also just holding out until they get official word from the doctors. Also, plenty of time before Opening day for them to recover if they do have anything serious.
Update: Geovany Soto said today that if this was the regular season, he’d be playing. So that’s good news, not that serious, just being precautionary.
