Surprise, Arizona– The Texas Rangers will host the Los Angeles Dodgers today in Surprise Arizona. A day after losing 2-1 in Glendale Arizona against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Rangers will look to bounce back with Tanner Scheppers on the mound.
Scheppers has mainly been in the conversion with Joakim Soria and Neftali Feliz as a potential closer, but most recently Scheppers has talked about wanting to get a chance to start.

Injury Update: Engel Beltre will again not be in the lineup. He is still day-to-day with shin splints. Brent Lillibridge is out today with a bruised thumb. Alex Rios is still day-to-day due to an right intercostal strain. Rios isn’t considered serious.

Robbie Ross continues to try to work himself in to a starting role. Also, Neftali Feliz is working to build his velocity and command back up as he continues to prove he is the one for the closer role. In his last outing, Feliz was able to pick up some speed, about in the lower 90’s which was down where he was in in the Dominican Winter League where he was pitching in the high 90s.
