SURPRISE, Ariz. – Texas Rangers take on the Kansas City Royals tonight at Surprise Stadium. Matt Harrison is slated to get the start for the Texas Rangers. This will be Matt Harrison’s first ‘A’ game start since receiving a nerve-block injection on the right side of his neck on February 24.  Also returning to action tonight is Jurickson Profar at second base.  Kevin Kouzmanoff will be covering third for Adrian Beltre, who is expected to return in Thursday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds.

T.R.Sullivan’s blog sent news that Nick Tepesch was optioned to Triple A Round Rock today. Jose Contreras was told he would not make the team. Several others were sent to the minors today, pitchers Cory Burns, Miles Mikolas and Daniel Bard, catchers Patrick Cantwell and Brett Nicholas, infielders Kensuke Tanaka and Andy Parrino and outfielders Brad Snyder and Bryan Peterson.

With the 11 cuts the Texas Rangers made today that can only mean one thing: TEXAS RANGERS BASEBALL IS CLOSE!
