Arlington, Tex – Texas Rangers short stop Elvis Andrus has started off the season with two streak so far. He has played in all 10 games/89.0 innings and he has hit safely in all 10 games.
That's a 10-game hit streak to open the season for @ElvisandrusSS1. #LetsGoRangers

He is currently third on the all-time season opener hitting streak for Texas Rangers.
- 13 Al Oliver (1979)
- 10 Alex Johnson (1973)
- 10 Buddy Bell (1982)
- 10 Pete O’Brien (1988)
- 10 Elvis Andrus (2014) – source Texas Rangers
Elvis Andrus does have some company, Toronto Blue Jays Melky Cabrera and Chicago White Sox Alexei Ramirez also have hit in all the games played for their respective clubs.
Today he’ll have the chance to continue both streaks against the Houston Astros. He’ll have to square off against the Astros RHP Jarred Cosart who has an ERA of 4.50. He’s only batted against him twice in his career and has yet to record a base hit. Hopefully today he’ll change that.
The Texas Rangers play the Houston Astros tonight at 7:05 PM CDT in at Globe Life Park.
