Thursday, April 17, 2014: Texas Rangers defeat Seattle Mariners 8-6

PITCHING: Tanner Scheppers started, but it took a team effort from the bullpen to get the job done. Scheppers pitched 2.1 innings allowing all 6 runs. Then the bullpen took over from there, Hector Noesi 2.0 IP, Pedro Figueroa 1.2 IP, Jason Frasor 1.0 IP, Alexi Ogando 1.0 IP and Joakim Soria 1.0 IP. Pedro Figueroa earned the win, while Joakim Soria earned the save. The combined pitching line was 10 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 5 BB, 2 HR, 5 K’S for a combined 3.88 ERA.

HITS AND PLAYS:
Kevin KOUUUZMANOFF doubles to plate Elvis Andrus to get on the board early.

Mitch Moreland gets a two-run hit.

Shin-Soo Choo hits a 412 ft. home run, his first as a Texas Ranger.

J.P. Arencibia gets his 2nd groundout RBI of the game.

Prince Fielder catches a liner hit right to him and throws to second for a double play.

Leonys Martin dives to make the catch and get Kyle Seager out.

I know many people have been harping on Mitch Moreland, myself include, but he has been doing better as of late. Here in the 3rd he softly hits down the LF foul line for his third double and plates Kevin Kouzmanoff.

Donnie Murphy scores the final run for the Texas Rangers on a wild pitch.
