The New Look Texas Rangers Rotation. Again.

Arlington, TX. – The Texas Rangers announced its rotation today according to Jeff Wilson of the Star Telegram via twitter. It will now be Yu Darvish, Robbie Ross, Nick Martinez, Colby Lewis and Nick Tepesch.

The hope was that Robbie Ross could move back to the bull pen, seeing that he has been less than effective in his last two starts, but need has changed the plans on Ross. With Martin Perez opting for Tommy John surgery and Matt Harrison possibly needing career ending surgery, the Rangers are at a loss for starters again. This has to be the most injured Texas Rangers team of all time. Scott Lucas of the Newberg Report put it best earlier this week when he wrote

"“By my count, Texas has added 17 players to the 40-man roster since the beginning of March, counting Scott Baker twice.  During the same time period in 2010-2013, the Rangers added a total of 18, never exceeding seven in any one season.” Newberg Report"

The Rangers are a very injured team, and I am beginning to lose hope for the 2014 campaign. I am not ready to say that they are dead in the water yet,  I mean this is still a .500 team and it is only mid-May, anything can happen at this point, but it seems that now may be the time to start panicking.

Lee wrote an article here on Nolan Writin’ about what it would take to bring in David Price, and I am not sure that I want that anymore unless the Rangers can sign him to a very long term deal and he lives in a bubble when he is not pitching. No one is safe from injury this season it seems. I am not sure that one pitcher is going to fix the 2014 season, but Price would give Texas Rangers fans hope for the future if they could ink him to a long term contract.

I am not hopeless about this team, but neither am I hopeful. How do you in Rangers land feel about the remainder of the 2014 season? Let us know by voting below!
