The Texas Rangers starting rotation doesn’t look anything like people figured it would entering the offseason. Yu Darvish of course is still a cornerstone of the rotation, but the other 4 pieces are a bit unlikely.
No one figured Colby Lewis would be back in the starting rotation, although everyone include him was very hopeful he would. After watching in during spring training and a few rehab assignments I figured he was ready and I even thought there was still a bit of the old Lewis still there. Although there were several other writers that thought all signs of the old Lewis were gone.
Also, the starting rotation is missing the Rangers number 2 pitcher Derek Holland, Matt Harrison and Martin Perez. But they have managed to piece together what is starting to look like a decent starting rotation. Even with Joe Saunders in it, it doesn’t look bad at the moment.
With that thought, below is a poll on the Texas Rangers starters. I’d like to see who you think the top two Rangers pitchers are, excluding Yu Darvish. We all know Darvish is the best pitcher the Rangers have. I have also left out Matt Harrison and Martin Perez because they are out for the season. Also, not on the poll is Derek Holland because he’s not in the rotation yet.
