Mitch Moreland may be back sooner than expected, according to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News.

Mitch Moreland will still have surgery to remove bone in his left ankle, but not the reconstruction he was originally going for.

My guess would be that Moreland is hoping to put off the major surgery until after the season is over so he can play the rest of this season (minus the three for four weeks he will miss for the lesser surgery) and get some more time at first base. I think Moreland will be willing to do whatever it takes to play again this season.
Rougned Odor had an MRI today and it came back negative, so he plans on taking batting practice today according to Jeff Wilson. This is big news for Texas Rangers fans who were very worried about Rougned Odor, and I think it is a good sign if he is going to try and take some swings today. We will keep you updated via twitter and facebook as soon as we know anything else about either situation, but both of these things seem like better news than I was expecting today!
