Rays Blank the Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers are very consistent in one thing, and that one thing is inconsistency. Colby Lewis pitched a fantastic game his last time out, so you would expect him to build on that, right? Not with the 2014 Texas Rangers. Colby went out there last night and threw up a dud against the Rays.

The offense was flat just a day after looking good, the defense was suspect and who knows when Alex Rios will actually return. He looked to be in a lot of pain on Sunday. The Rays are a good team, but they are not that much better then your Texas Rangers. So what is a Texas Rangers fan to do?

One thing I can tell you is that I will never actively root for the Texas Rangers to finish in last place so they can get the first pick in the draft. That is just not my style. I still want the Rangers to win as many games as they can, even if they can only win 55-60. I never want my team to lay down or give up for next season. I want them to have more pride than that.

The Texas Rangers season may be lost, but that is not how I want the players to feel. I want them to go out and play hard every night and try to secure a win. It may not happen every night and obviously isn’t happening every night, but I still feel like they are working hard, and that is good enough for me. Hopefully they will get back on track tonight!
