The Texas Rangers had a rough August, of course they also had a rough May, June and July as well. But August wasn’t all bad, there were some good moments that happened as well, and I thought I would take some time this evening to highlight the best that the Rangers had in the month of August. Hope you enjoy the look back at the best of August from Nolan Writin’.
hits a Grand Slam. His first ever in his major league career. It was an amazing moment in the month of August and one that i am sure that Rougned nor the Texas Rangers and their fans will forget soon. Odor has been one bright spot for this Texas Rangers team in all of 2014, but he had a great August with the grand slam and the three run shot he hit just two days later.
Colby Lewis throws a complete game shutout against the Mariners. Colby has had an up and down season, and it is really amazing that he is pitching at all after the surgeries that he has been through, but that didn’t stop him from throwing a complete game shutout earlier in August. Colby had pinpoint command and his stamania was very good in his win over the Mariners. I am not sure whether Colby will return to the Texas Rangers in 2015 or not, but for one game he looked like post season Colby Lewis again. here he is talking to Buzz and Tom about it.
Colby Lewis complete game shutout of the White Sox. The Rangers dominated the White Sox and Lewis was brilliant. The Texas Rangers needed someone to be that good with Yu Darvish being out and no one really pitching well at this point of the month. Colby came through with a true gem.
Ryan Rua gets first major league hit. There have been a lot of these over the 2014 season, and Rua is just another in a long line of rookies getting their first major league hit. Pretty exciting for him and the Texas Rangers.
