Rangers Route Angels, Win Seventh Straight
Just a week ago we were discussing how the Rangers were going to easily lose 100 games. I, personally had no doubt in my mind. They were already reeling from all the injuries and the resignation of Ron Washington, and it looked hopeless. But in the last seven games, the Rangers have changed all that.
Last night Lisalverto Bonilla was brilliant, holding the Angels to just two runs in five innings. And Jake Smolinski may be earning himself a spot on the roster for next season. He looks great.
“They are excited about being out there and they are having fun,” manager Tim Bogar said after the game according to texasrangers.com. “They have a little cohesiveness and they are feeding off each other. It helps to get great starting pitching and that’s what we’ve been getting lately.”
I know that technically it is too little too late for the Rangers, but I for one am glad to see them finishing the season strong. The Rangers are now 8-9 in the month of September, and the are two wins away from avoiding a hundred plus loss season. This winning streak has gone a long way in avoiding that.
I felt like this Rangers team never gave up during the season, and i for one am glad to see that it is finally paying off for the young players. I hope they can finish it out strong so they are on a high note going into 2015. Let’s Go Rangers!
