Will He Last The Full Season?

I would venture to say that Volquez won’t last the entire season in the Texas Rangers rotation. With his injury history, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him have a few stints on the DL. A mixture of injuries and struggles could see him reverted to a bullpen role for the rebuilding Rangers.

Conversely, if he performs above expectations, he could find himself on the trade market come the summer of 2019. A veteran making just $2 million, he represents a good depth option for contending clubs who may be interested in him as a reliever who can pitch multiple innings.

Whatever the reason, I would lean more towards Volquez not making it the entire season in the Texas Rangers rotation.
