Texas Rangers: Building a Christmas list for the rest of free agency
By Kenneth Nash

The “Sure, Why Nots?” (Wants, but Not Priorities)
The “Sure, Why Nots?” weren’t really needs, they weren’t really your big wants. They were the gifts that you threw on the list last minute, thinking perhaps you could sneak a little extra under the tree. Maybe you put a condition on it if you were really technical. If your plans A-C weren’t reasonable, then you’d ask for plan D. Maybe you saw last minute that they were on a big discount and you just decided to go for it. If you’re the Texas Rangers, its probably the latter and we already know that gift will be under the tree come Christmas morning. His name is Corey Kluber.
Texas already got their warm-ups added to the rotation, but they also got the extra piece in the form of a two-time Cy Young winner and long-time Indians ace, Corey Kluber. Kluber was rumored to be on the trade market entering the offseason as the Indians looked to offload salary. Coming off a down year that was ended prematurely by a line drive off his arm, Kluber seemed the options Cleveland would go with to offload said salary. Remember when we thought maybe Texas added this to the list because it was on a big discount? Yeah that discount meant landing Kluber for the remainder of his two year contract in exchange for Delino DeShields and Emmanuel Clase, a shockingly low price to those around the industry. Texas may not have originally had Kluber on their list, the deal was so good they thought, sure, why not?
