Texas Rangers-Seattle Mariners most recent trade: December 15, 2020

Out of all the teams on this list, the Seattle Mariners have been the most recent intra-divisional trade partner with the Texas Rangers.

In fact, the two organizations traded with one another during this off-season, when the Rangers shipped reliever Rafael Montero up to the Pacific Northwest for minor league pitcher Jose Corniell.

In total, the two AL West rivals have done business with each other a total of 18 times since their respective inceptions.

This number is lower in part because both Texas and Seattle were expansion teams, but also because as mentioned earlier, in-division trades are rare.

But given Mariners’ GM Jerry Dipoto’s propensity for making trades, don’t expect the Rafael Montero deal to be the last one between Texas and Seattle going forward.
