The studs of 2021 Texas Rangers spring training are well-known.

Ronald Guzman, Joey Gallo, Charlie Culberson, Wes Benjamin and a handful of others are making the most of their opportunities during game action in Arizona.

Unfortunately, this spring hasn’t been without its duds, either. Players like Leody Taveras, Nate Lowe and Kohei Arihara have struggled during their respective times in the Arizona sun to this point.

Of course, this is merely spring training, so the latter group of “duds” will have ample time to recover and refurnish their stock heading into the 2021 regular season.

With the more noticeable studs and duds, though, also come the under-appreciated performers of Texas Rangers spring training so far.

Here are three players who are flying under the radar at Surprise this year.*

Adolis Garcia

Adolis Garcia is having an underrated spring training with the Texas Rangers.

The Texas Rangers have always liked OF Adolis Garcia.

As the brother of former big leaguer Adonis Garcia, baseball clearly runs in this Garcia’s veins.

The 28-year-old has shuffled around this off-season, including being DFA’d in early February before the Rangers brought him back as a non-roster invitee to 2021 spring training.

Garcia made seven plate appearances with Texas in 2020.

He’s only had four such appearances in 2021 spring training, but Adolis is making the most of them so far, posting a 1.150 OPS with two hits and four RBIs during the small sample size.

The former international free agent from Cuba hasn’t started a game yet this spring for the Rangers, but with the impression he’s been making early on, he’s earned a chance or two.
