Texas Rangers Future Rotation: RHP Jack Leiter

You could argue Jack Leiter and Cole Winn being switched in a future rotation order, but either way, Leiter and Winn are sure to be a dynamic duo.

The Texas Rangers have lacked top-tier pitching talent in their system over the years, and it’s been a while since fans have really been able feel excited about homegrown aces in Arlington. And to think, they could potentially have two now.

Leiter had an incredible 2021 college season at Vanderbilt, with a 2.13 ERA and two no-hitters as the ace of the Commodores’ staff. He figures to start his professional career at AA Frisco, where Winn is now, given how polished the former is coming out of college.

Scouts have compared Leiter to Reds’ starter Sonny Gray, which is nice praise overall, since Gray is a very good pitcher, save for a brief stint with the Yankees.

Between Jack Leiter and Cole Winn, things are getting exciting in Arlington.
