2B Ezequiel Duran
One of the key pieces acquired by the Texas Rangers in the Joey Gallo trade
Duran is a grade-A, pure hitter who will be Rule 5 eligible this offseason.
Between the Yankees’ and Rangers’ organizations, the slugging infielder has a .286 average with 13 homers and 13 stolen bases, as well.
He currently sits at the Rangers’ 8th best prospect, and is projected to be up in 2023, right as Texas is expected to get back into contention.
If his bat is true, he could a Gleyber Torres-type player that slots nicely into the second base job for the Rangers.
Andy Ibáñez and Nick Solak will have something to say about that, though, but a little friendly competition never hurt anyone, right?
OF Bubba Thompson
A career hampered by injuries, Bubba has finally broken out and is showing why the Rangers’ loved him so much.
A .271 batting average with 11 homers so far with Frisco is not only eye opening for Texas, but for the other 29 big league clubs, as well.
He’s doing everything right in Frisco, and has earned a right to fight for a 40-man roster spot this offseason.
Plus, just imagine an outfield of El Bombi, Leody Taveras and Bubba Thompson with Eli White being the utility-man.
That is arguably one of the most athletic outfields the Rangers have ever run out on the field.
