It’s been a long season for the Texas Rangers, and not much winning to show for it.

Naturally, that makes this year’s team less memorable. With lots of roster shuffling this season, it’s understandable that outside of the players we’ve seen everyday or with some kind or regularity, you would forget certain players did in fact play for the Texas Rangers in 2021.

And not to mention, the trade deadline sent away a few of our more notable players in Joey Gallo, Kyle Gibson and Ian Kennedy. It’s a full-blown youth movement in Texas!

Here are three players that most Texas Rangers fans completely forgot were even on the roster at any point in the 2021 season

1. Hunter Wood

The flowing locks, the dominant spring training. It seemed like reliever Hunter Wood was on course to make the team out of camp with injuries decimating the bullpen.

He didn’t, somehow, and started the season in AAA. Nonetheless, he would get his chance in May, pitching five innings in five games, allowing two runs but also striking out five.

Then, injury struck in the form of elbow soreness. He’s been out of commission ever since.

The good news? He could be back for 2022, and with the way he was pitching this year, he certainly deserves another look.
