Texas Rangers: 3 players you completely forgot were on the team in 2021

2. Ryan Dorow

Yeah, you’re probably thinking this name doesn’t ring any sort of bell. But lost in all of the player shuffling of 2021 was the major league debut of infielder Ryan Dorow.

Dorow isn’t a top prospect by any means, but he was having a solid season at AA Frisco, with a .791 OPS in 356 at-bats. He was called up when a bevy of Texas Rangers players hit the COVID-related IL in late August.

The 26-year-old made just seven plate appearances at the big league level this season without a hit, walking once and striking out three times. In other words: we forgive you for letting Dorow slip by your memory this season.

Realistically, Dorow is little more than a depth piece, but as it goes with injuries and COVID, you can never have too much of that.

But yes, Ryan Dorow did play for the Texas Rangers in 2021, and it’s highly likely you forgot that he did.
