3 top free agents that the Texas Rangers should sign post-lockout
While we await MLB to come back out of the lockout (and it won’t end anytime soon), the Texas Rangers STILL have plenty of business to do, once MLB gets open for business.
We will discuss some top free agents the Rangers should sign post-lockout, and among them are some big names.

At number one, this is very obvious but intriguing: Bring Clayton Kershaw back home!
He was spotted at a Dallas Mavericks home game at the American Airlines Center, that should be a good sign, right?
Look, this is the “perfect” signing the Rangers should make after the lockout. If the Rangers do, in fact, bring the Highland Park kid home, they will be able to add a veteran presence in the starting rotation and will help these young guys grow and feel comfortable in the big leagues.
The Rangers will take any help they can get and by signing Kershaw, they will boost their rebuild process a little bit faster. The Rangers have already signed one of Kershaw teammates, in, Corey Seager, so, why not bring them together and become teammates again, but this time in Texas.

At number two, Kyle Schwarber.
If the Texas Rangers are able to bring Schwarber to Texas, lookout! He will bring a big bat to Texas and will help them with their outfield depth.
Outside of Adolis Garcia, the Rangers need some depth in the outfield and by adding Schwarber to the lineup, they will add even more depth and power.
While everyone will be focused on the “Big names”, like Carlos Correa and Kris Bryant (and rightly so), that could open up the opportunity for the Rangers to bring in and sign a guy like Schwarber. Could you imagine him being in the lineup, with Seager, Semien and Garcia? Schwarber has plenty of suitors, but expect Texas to be in the mix for his services.

At number three, Nelson Cruz. Could you imagine Nelson Cruz with Seager and Semien in the lineup together? Cruz knows the Texas Rangers really well and would give the Rangers a big bat to plug in the lineup.
It appears that Cruz’s days on the field are over, but his bat still has some pop in it, and could help the Rangers bring some power to the lineup. If Texas is able to bring Cruz back, it would help them in a lot of ways, like adding a veteran presence in the clubhouse, especially on a young team, and giving them a big bat that they could use in a key situation.
Of course, these are just speculation but if the Rangers are able to sign any of these guys to the team, then this season could be an interesting one!
