The Texas Rangers had a rough weekend against the Detroit Tigers. They lost 11-2 on Saturday with Dallas Keuchel making his Rangers debut. At least they made an attempt in the ninth inning on Sunday to tie the game.
The Astros series was a disaster as well as the Rangers were outplayed on the field by the Houston Astros and umpire Angel Hernandez.
The only real good news is that Marcus Semien recently joined the 20/20 club this season, along with Adolis Garcia.
In the minors, the Double-A RoughRiders have been on fire this week as they are trying to clinch their playoff spot.
Find out who made the lists this week on this edition of the Texas Rangers Weekly Report.
Texas Rangers Weekly Report: Who’s Hot
Marcus Semien
As I mentioned above the reason why I have him on the Rangers Weekly Report is due to him making the 20/20 club. Last week I mentioned that means the player has 20 home runs and 20 steals. It’s a huge accomplishment and at least it’s a positive thing that happened this past week.

Corey Seager
You know I have to add the goat to the list this week for surpassing his career high in home runs in a season. As of Wednesday, he is now at 29 home runs going into the next series. Here is the highlight of him hitting the home run against the Tigers that brought them within one. If only there was someone else on the bases.
Two home runs today and a career-high 28 on the season for Corey Seager. 💥

Aaron Zavala
Zavala had one heck of a week down in Frisco with the Roughriders. He had two walk-offs for wins in victories against the Wind Surge. He also had added a home run on the road in Amarillo this week. Here is the walk off single that he hit against the Wind Surge. He will probably force the Rangers to call him up sometime in 2023, it’s inevitable.
.@aaron_zavala_ does it AGAIN!!

Mason Englert and Zak Kent
These two pitchers were bound to be promoted this week and that came to fruition this week. Englert was promoted to the RoughRiders and Zak Kent was promoted to the Express. Both of these minor league pitchers deserve their promotion and I’m happy the Rangers think the same way.
Nathaniel Lowe
Nathaniel Lowe definitely had a good week at the plate as well. A warrant for his arrest went out to the public after absolutely murdering this baseball against the Tigers.

Apparently, he is on such a hot streak that MLB Network did a six-minute segment showing the evolution between last season and this season. Here is the clip below if you want to watch it.

Timmy Trumpet
It finally happened on Wednesday night. For those who don’t know by now, Edwin Diaz has the coolest walk-in from the bullpen in the league. They brought in Timmy Trumpet to play “Narco” live as Diaz ran out to the mound in one of the home games this past week. The Rangers definitely need to find a pitcher to run out to the mound with a cool song. Heres the clip of it happening below.

Texas Rangers Weekly Report: Who’s Not Hot
Dallas Keuchel
At least the fans got an Adrian Beltre bobblehead for sitting through that hot garbage of a pitching performance. I personally don’t know why the Rangers signed him to a minor league deal to begin with. The Rangers can safely let him go after the season comes to an end in October.
Martin Perez
I hate to even have to add him to The Who’s Not Hot list. Perez gave up nine hits and five runs on Wednesday against the Astros. I expected a better pitching performance from him especially since he’s pitched well against the Astros in the past. I’m sure he will rebound in his next pitching performance.
