The 2026 Texas Rangers schedule has been released and for the first time since 2022 they will be on the road for Opening Day.
Set to begin the season on March 26 at Citizens Bank Park against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Rangers will then travel to Baltimore for three games before finally kicking off the home season on April 3 against the Reds.
Grueling road trips to start the Rangers' 2026 season
The Rangers have been tested on the road this year and next will be no different. After opening the first six games on the road, Texas will get a short homestand to start the year and then open up a 10-game stretch on the road in the West Coast against the Dodgers, Athletics and Mariners.
That stretch is part of a period of 16 road games in 22 games to start the season for Texas. There road schedule doesn't really ease up much after that either. Set to face Detroit, the Yankees, Atlanta, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Boston, Toronto, Cleveland and more on the road throughout the year.
Entering the final month of 2025, the Rangers are 26-40 on the road with a a .238 battings average in 66 games. While there is no way of knowing that next season's road struggles will continue, it has been a trend in recent years that the Rangers are known to struggle away from Globe Life Field.
September schedule features some potential playoff decision-making series
The final month of the regular season will feature the Arizona Diamondbacks, Seattle Mariners, Red Sox, Mets and Twins.
That is a potential gauntlet of teams to face down the stretch of the season, especially when September is the make-or-break month to secure a postseason spot. All of those teams will not be easy takedowns.
Despite the D-backs and Twins struggles this season, they are showing positive direction heading into 2026. As for the other four opponents, all have big potential to be centered in the postseason race next season just like they are as the calendar flips to September this year.
