The Texas Rangers enter a critical series against the Seattle Mariners one game under .500 at 40-41 and are still deciding whether it's time to be buyers or sellers this summer.

All season long pitching has been fantastic but the hitting horrendous. Therefore let's think for a moment that we never do see enough of a turnaround to justify staying competitive past the July 31 deadline.

By then it'll be time to mail in the season and with that comes the chance to give some of the organization's top prospects some time in the big leagues.

3 minor leaguers the Rangers should give a chance once they commit to being sellers

Skylar Hales, RHP

The Rangers' No. 30 overall prospect, Hales is currently working out of the bullpen for the Frisco Roughriders. In 26 games, the 23-year-old has a 5.63 ERA in 24 innings of work and 30 strikeouts to just eight walks.

Although those don't seem like outstanding numbers, Hales has a four-seam that ranges from 94-97 mph, topping out into the triple digits. Outside of that he has a slider and curveball and as it's known by the little walk numbers, he fills up the strike zone.

While he's only in Double-A, Hales carries massive potential at the backend of the bullpen in high-leverage spots. And if Texas is already not considering a playoff run, why not see what he can do.

Emiliano Teodo, RHP

Despite being on the injured list this is another future backend bullpen arm in the making alongside Hales.

The 24-year-old right-hander is the organization's fourth overall prospect and top pitching prospect after the graduation out of the prospect designation for Kumar Rocker. After a fantastic spring training with the big league club, he started the year in Triple-A Round Rock and it has not been good.

No matter the 10.13 ERA in 16 innings with the Express, he is still one of the best options for a future bullpen arm and one of the highly-anticipated prospect debuts.

Sebastian Walcott, SS

The top ranked prospect in the Rangers' farm system, Walcott has the potential to be one of the best names in Major League Baseball for years to come. At only 19 years old, the Bahamian shortstop has the capability to be a true five-tool ballplayer.

Because he is still young, Walcott is currently with Double-A Frisco and the next likely landing spot will be callup to Round Rock later this season if he stays on a positive path. In 67 games this season, Walcott is slashing .252/.349/.407 with 8 home runs, 33 RBIs and 16 doubles.

It would be such a fun entertainment factor for fans and a great opportunity for Walcott to showcase what he could bring to the table for the Rangers' future if given the chance to make his debut. Of course, all this only makes sense if Texas commits to it and that's yet to be decided.
