There are a variety of awards that any player can win any given year. The Rangers have been heavily decorated in their past with awards and are looking to add some more to the list.
There are awards the Rangers haven't won yet such as the Cy Young and some they have won several times. They feature some of the leagues top players on the roster pacing for career seasons.
Despite the incredibly disappointing start to the season, some players have enjoyed individual success. They have a second half push to make if they want to close in on some awards.
Who are the Rangers pacing to win awards?
Josh Smith, Silver Slugger UT
The leagues best utility man is looking to add some more gold to his trophy cabinet. The versatile lefty hitter is slashing .277/.353/.416 to a .769 OPS in the year following his breakout season.
He won the AL Silver Slugger for utility players last year and is likely to repeat. In 2025, he has without a doubt been the teams best player and arguably the most important player on the team.
We are not still in contention for a playoff spot with Smith this season. The offense around him has completely collapsed while he has shined in the batters box. He has been a key contributor stepping in for any infielder when they have missed time and is certainly favored to win another award this season.
Jacob deGrom, Cy Young Award
Fans didn't know when or if prime deGrom would show up in Arlington. The beginning two seasons of his time in Arlington was rough but the corner has been turned and we are witnissing history again.
deGrom is in legit contention to win the Cy Young award this year. He does not currently have the same amount of counting stats or innings as Tarik Skubal or Garrett Crochet but his impact is paramount.
He is back to essentially being unhittable with a 2.32 ERA, 113 strikeouts to 24 walks, and hitters batting a mere .194 against him. He slots in at a clear 3rd place currently but is certainly in the race to win it. If he keeps pace, he is likely to podium for or win the Cy Young award.
Nathan Eovaldi, Cy Young Award
An injury has delayed the output of the best pitcher in 2025 to this point. Eovaldi's numbers are undeniable and the least talked about season for pitchers this season.
In his 16 starts to this point, Eovaldi has paced for 91 innings, 94 strikeouts to 14 walks, a .194 average against, and a shockingly low 1.58 ERA. If he has the innings to match the top dogs so far, he without a doubt is first place.
We have seen pitchers win the Cy Young award without making every start. There's not even a guarantee that anyone makes all there starts from here on out. He was disgustingly snubbed from the all star game and has some added fuel to his fire.
When you have numbers as strong as this, you are certainly capable of winning a Cy Young. Eovaldi has shown no signs of slowing down it may just be a matter of getting the innings to catch up. We are currently witnissing potentially the best pitching season in team history.
