We are still months away from the 2025 Trade Deadline but it's never too early to start talking about what the Texas Rangers might be willing to part with in order to get better.
But things recently have gotten worse over the last couple of weeks. The offense is horrendous and we've started to see massive twists and roster changes this week.
If it continues to get worse it will be hard to see the Rangers part with their prospects, instead sell their major league talent that might be worth a prospect or two. But if Texas finds a way to bounce back and find themselves in firm playoff position by the Trade Deadline, here's three options in the farm system that would be top trade candidates.
3 Rangers' prospects that could be a part of a Trade Deadline deal this summer
Marc Church
Church is the Rangers 23rd overall prospect, made his MLB Debut in September 2024 and began the regular season on the team's Opening Day roster.
The 24-year-old right-hander is a protoypical reliever if he can find a way to hon in and execute his pitches. He has a three pitch mix featuring a fastball that tops out at 99 mph, a slider and the recently added splitter.
In 2025, he's played in five games at the MLB level with a 3.86 ERA and found himself struggling limited free passes with six walks to just 5 strikeouts. Church is yet to appear in a game in Triple-A this season after being placed on the IL but if he is able to lockdown, teams always are intrigued with a hard-throwing bullpen piece.
Justin Foscue
The first round draft pick back in 2020 has honestly been a mixed bag in his professional career and his short-lived stint in the majors last season was less than ideal but he's off to a strong start in Round Rock this season.
Foscue is slashing .304/.395/.461 with an .856 OPS, 3 home runs, 14 runs batted in and 15 runs in 26 games this season. The 26-year-old infielder is in a weird spot because the team has a backlog of infielders, with Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Josh Smith and several higher-ranked infield prospects.
If Texas needs to find a hot veteran bat or steady arm to help make a closeout run in the second half of the season, Foscue is a perfect candidate that would need to be at the top of the opposing team's wish list.
Winston Santos
Santos is the Rangers 5th-ranked prospect currently with the Double-A Frisco Roughriders. Signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2019, Santos is in his fifth season of professional baseball.
The right-hander features a three-pitch mix: fastball, slider and changeup, Santos stands at six feet tall with the 1-2 punch of the four-seam and slider being legit put aways. He's only pitched 5 2/3 innings for Frisco this year while he is currently
The 23-year-old turned some heads this spring, tossing three perfect innings in the Rangers Spring Breakout game against the Giants. With the potential to be a solid mid-rotation arm, teams could also be interested in the potential and upside that Santos would provide.
