The Texas Rangers host 13 home series in the first half of 2026 beginning with the home opener in early April to an electric July 4 weekend against a reigning Cy Young winner.

3 Rangers' home series to mark on your calendar in first half of 2026

Series #1: Reds at Rangers, April 3-5 (Home Opener)

This will be the first real game scenario fans will get to see a hopefully revived offense and top MLB rotation in-person and this will set the stage for what to expect the remainder of the year. During the spring, the Rangers were among the top 10 in most offensive categories and those results can translate to the regular season.

If that isn't interesting enough, Jacob deGrom is slated to pitch in the home opener on April 3 and if the rotation is expected to follow, fans can expect newcomer MacKenzie Gore and rising star Jack Leiter to close out the series on Saturday and Sunday.

Series #2: Astros at Rangers, May 25-28 (First home series vs. Houston)

It is always a spectacle when the Rangers and Astros meet for another edition of the Silver Boot Series. While it's typically been controlled by Houston, the 2023 American League Championship Series raised the bar of tension surrounding the two Texas clubs.

Rangers' fans hope the team can reverse those fortunes, take the Silver Boot and use that as fuel to make significant early ground in the American League West.

Series #3: Tigers at Rangers, July 2, 4-5 (Final series before All-Star Game)

Rounding out the first half of the season is back-to-back Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal, a familiar face in Framber Vladez and the Detroit Tigers. What makes this weekend series special is of course, July 4, but also a chance to finish the first half on a strong note.

No telling where Texas will be in the standings but if they are near the top it will allow Texas to widen that lead but if they are struggling it will give Chris Young a glimpse into what changes might need to be made prior to the August 3 trade deadline.
