Tonight is the night where Major League Baseball announces the rest of the 2025 All-Star Game rosters for both the National and American Leagues.

Just earlier this week, the league revealed the starters for the Midsummer Classic in Atlanta on JUly 14. To no one's surprise, a Rangers player was not revealed to be one of the starting nine in the AL. However, that doesn't mean they have no players deserving of the honor.

3 Rangers players that should be named reserves on the AL All-Star Game

Jacob deGrom - RHP

This is about as guaranteed a selection as one could possibly imagine. Which is a much-needed story for MLB after deGrom's after four injury riddled seasons.

After undergoing Tommy John Surgery in 2023, deGrom worked his way back and so far this season has started 17 games, the most since his 2019 season. And he's been terrific with a 9-2 record, 2.13 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, 100 strikeouts, 20 walks and just a .191 opponent batting average.

Right now the 37-year-old is probably one of the top 3 finalists for the AL Cy Young. Finally healthy, it would be his fifth All-Star Game and first as a member of the Texas Rangers.

Hoby Milner - LHP

The AL All-Star team could have a pick among the Rangers' bullpen this season which is something that is crazy to say. But if it had to one it would lefty Hoby Milner.

Milner has been a workhorse for the Rangers this year, appearing in 41 games and despite a rough. outing against Baltimore on June 30 he is lights out. His 2.42 ERA is third-best on the team, trailing only Cole Winn (1.59) and Chris Martin (2.20).

The 34-year-old Fort Worth has also thrown the eighth-most innings (44.2) among all relievers in MLB this season. If Texas could only carry two All-Stars into Atlanta later this month, Milner should right next to deGrom on that flight.

Josh Smith - UT

This is a tough one because by all accounts Smith has been one of the best all-around utility players in the league this season. Unfortunately the league doesn't seem to take to utility guys in the All-Star Games, opting for the other infielders/outfielders that were shunned by fan voting.

Regardless, the former LSU Tiger is more than ready to make his first career All-Star appearance. The odds though are stacked against him.

After being shunned last season, Smith is currently hitting .282 with 8 homers, 22 RBIs, 77 hits, 41 runs scored, 8 stolen bases and a .354 OBP. All of this while playing seven different defensive positions.
