3 Texas Rangers who could be first time All-Stars in 2025

Despite the star power on the Rangers' rosters, these three can check off an important milestone in their career this season by earning their first All-Star selection.

Two seasons ago the Texas Rangers were six All-Star selections deep when the Midsummer Classic was held at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. Among that list was two who were All-Stars for the first time in their careers.

As the 2025 regular season is about to kick off, we can safely predict a handful of Rangers, including Nathan Eovaldi, Corey Seager and Marcus Semien have a great chance to make the All-Star team in 2025. However, there are still a few players on the Rangers' roster who have never been named to an All-Star team, yet have all the potential to do so this year.

Cody Bradford

There's a lot to be excited about for Bradford this season, one of which is getting a chance to finally have a full breakout season and get the recognition of being a first time MLB All-Star.

Bradford, 27, was on his way to having that type of season last year following two hot starts in April but he was then sidelined with an injury and didn't return to action until July 30. The left-hander has come a long way in his career after being drafted in the sixth-round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of Baylor and having a tough debut season in 2023, where he recorded a 5.30 ERA in 20 games.

He was off to a great start this spring only giving up two runs in nine innings of work but after being a late scratch from his start on Wednesday, it was announced he would start the regular season on the IL. While his MRI came back clean, he will be shut down for up to 10 days as he Texas hopes the swelling comes down. If he is ready to go only a week or two delayed and continues his rise he will have no problem being in Atlanta come July for the All-Star festivities.

Jake Burger

It's important to remember that Burger is only entering his fifth full season in Major League Baseball to have it make a little bit of sense has hasn't been named an All-Star.

Burger, 28, enters the 2025 season as the Rangers everyday first baseman after the departure of Nathaniel Lowe. Last year with Miami, Burger finished the season hitting .250 with a .760 OPS, 29 HRs, 76 RBIs and 23 doubles which are solid numbers with a lot of improvement waiting to be made.

He will enter this season with a designated position and in the middle of a deep lineup that can give him comfort, protection and allow him to go out and play baseball with zero worries. Burger is what a lot of people would consider to be Texas's most underrated acquisition of the offseason with the potential to hit 30+ home runs and drive in 90 runs a season. If he can get off to a hot start, like he has this spring, Burger will have no trouble proving his value to All-Star Game voters.

Kyle Higashioka

Perhaps the hottest hitter on the team this spring, Higashioka is another favorite of mine to be a first time All-Star in 2025. The 34-year-old catcher is entering his ninth season in Major League Baseball and is coming off the most productive season of his season.

Higashioka is set to split even time with Texas's other backstop in Jonah Heim. I think it will finally push him into a conversation where he will get more reps at his position. His biggest challenge is getting off to a hot start this season in order to get himself in the conversation for the All-Star Game.

He will have tough competition in the American League this season with Adley Rutschman, Cal Raleigh, Shea Langeliers and Logan O'Hoppe are ready to show why they are the best catchers in the AL. Even his counterpart in Heim is hoping for a bounce back season.
