At this point, the Texas Rangers need every ounce of offensive production they can find. While the veterans haven't hit stride yet, maybe Texas can find it in the left-handed bat of Dustin Harris.
The 25-year-old was recalled from Round Rock during the last road trip on April 9 in Chicago. Since then he's only had four at-bats, with one being a hard-fought ninth-inning strikeout and another being a home run off one of the league's best pitchers.
Harris made his MLB Debut late last season on September 28 against the Angels in six at-bats, hit .333 with a double, home run, 3 RBIs and a 1.250 OPS. He didn't have a strong start to 2025, hitting below .200 in Triple-A but he still provides a much-needed youthful approach to the lineup.

In 2024, Harris was ranked as the organization's No. 11 overall prospect although this season he isn't ranked within the top 30 of the club. Last year with Round Rock, Harris played in 131 games, hitting .272, with 132 hits, 10 home runs, 53 RBIs and 35 stolen bases.
The Florida native, Harris is a solid mix of all-around hitter, above-average speed and reliable defense. He's not necessarily a top-rated prospect and no one should expect him to be the likes of the next greatest outfielder in Major League Baseball, but Harris can be a reliable, youthful option.
His at-bat in the ninth-inning against Andres Munoz Friday profiled as a 10-year veteran at the plate rather than a 25-year-old rookie. Now the at-bat did end in a strikeout, Harris made Munoz work, throwing seven pitches. He took several close pitches for balls, showing a lot of discipline in a big moment.
He has the potential to be this season's version of Evan Carter. The young outfielder who shows up when the team needs a boost of energy, especially on the offensive side. He doesn't have the overall scouting grades as Carter but can be beneficial in several ways.
I can envision Harris being inserted into the lineup all throughout the lineup and in the three defensive outfield spots. With a centerfielder in Taveras, who is struggling, there's no point giving Harris playing time and see what he does with it.
