Only a handful of days have past since Mike Maddux parted ways with the Rangers and now another coaching departure leaves yet another opening for the team to fill this winter.

Reported on Sunday by DLLS Sports Jeff Wilson, Tony Beasley is now the fourth member of the coaching staff to not return in 2026 as Skip Schumaker takes over for Bruce Bochy.

The losses sting as the departing coaches have been an integral part of the Rangers' recent history, including the 2023 World Series. While it gives Schumaker freedom to fill the roles withhis chosen staff, it also provides just another level of unknown heading into the offseason.

Beasley's familiarity and positive attitude will be missed by Rangers' fans

Joining the coaching staff in Texas in 2015, Beasley served mostly as the organization's third base coach but had a brief stint as the team's interim manager when the Rangers parted ways with Chris Woodward in 2022 for 48 games.

Beasley became synonymous with Rangers' baseball as a forever friendly face. In 2016, he was diagnosed with cancer and missed the start of the 2016 season. He was declared cancer free in December 2016 and returned to his third base duties for the 2017 season.

His perseverance through his cancer diagnosis was a massive sign of strength and earned a lot of respect not only for his fight but his baseball knowledge and quickly became a favorite in the clubhouse and among the fanbase.

He has gained adoration from all over, including non-stop praise by players and coaches and even dedicated fanbase online like Tony Beasley Superfan "X" account. This stings a bit extra after the announcement that Maddux is leaving for the Angels and long-time catching Bobby Wilson also left.

Will there be more coaching fallout for Rangers?

When Maddux left last week, President of Baseball Operations Chris Young said while he hoped that the remainder of the staff would stay with the team, their status was still unclear.

Beasley was the first name to depart since Young's statement leaving hitting coaches Bret Boone, Justin Viele, and Seth Conner, bench coach Luis Urueta, pitching coach Dave Bush and first base coach Corey Ragsdale.

It's hard to tell which additional coaches will part ways with Texas this winter. I am sure Schumaker would love to keep those in-tact but he might also have ideas in mind for those positions that he's worked with in the past.

One thing is for sure during this transition. Schumaker and Young are on a mission of transforming a team that missed back-to-back playoffs to the one that won the World Series just two years ago.
