Here is where the Texas Rangers pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, kicking off Monday on ESPN.

The 2025 MLB Draft is on Sunday and the Texas Rangers enter with the 12th overall pick and will likely have their selection of some of the best players available on the draft boards.

A lot of experts believe Texas will stray from their recent trend of collegiate players and select one of the draft's top rated prep shortstops on the board. Names floating around have been Daniel Piece from Georgia, Steele Hall from Alabama and Texas native Kayson Cunningham.

Texas has however seen recent success going the college route over the last five years, including Wyatt Langford, Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker. Most recently they went with Stanford's Malcolm Moore in 2024 but it's anyone's guess who the organization's next first-rounder will be.

Sunday will see the completion of the first three rounds or the draft, as well as the competitive balance selections and compensation picks. Given the inclusion of the various selections outside of traditional rounds, it can be confusing to keep track of when the Rangers will be on the clock.   • No. 84, Third Round
  • No. 115, Fourth Round
  • No. 146. Fifth Round
  • Rounds 6-20, the Rangers will have the 10th selection in each round

The Rangers do not have a selection in any of the competitive balance, prospect incentive or compensation rounds. They do get the chance to maintain all of their picks thanks to not signing a free agent connected to a qualifying offer (QO) or not re-signing someone last season that had a QO attached to them.
