The latest MLB Pipeline prospect rankings are out and they have changed drastically from the with a complete shake up of the top 10 following the summer's trade deadline and MLB Draft.
There have been some big risers and some drastic fall offs. This does not indicate the order of how successful every prospect will be but is an indication on how the industry views each player.
It is important to note that no players career can be predicted now and remember that these are all very young players. With that in mind, lets break down where everyone ranks.
Rangers updated top 10 prospects
1: Sebastian Walcott
He will be at the top of the list up until he debuts and loses prospect status. He has not just the most upside in the system but maybe the entire league.
2: Gavin Fien
The 2025 first-round pick debuts on the list high. This is likely indicative of how the industry views him rather than a weak system. He is ahead of some strong prospects.
3: Jose Corniell
After battling injuries for all of 2024 and most of 2025, Corniell is back and reminding everyone of who he is. The 2023 Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Year is back to prove he is here to stay.
4: Winston Santos
The 23-year-old has been a major success story for the Rangers after being signed originally for just $10,000. He has battled injuries for all of 2025 but is still highly regarded for his explosive fastball.
5: AJ Russell
This summer's second-round pick is looking to be healthy once again for a sustained period. His 70 grade fastball can fast track himself to the big leaguers whether it be as a bullpen arm or a member of the starting rotation.
6: Alejandro Rosario
Rosario has not pitched in 2025 due to an elbow injury and maybe Tommy John Surgery. After exploding onto the scene in 2024, it is clear that the industry still believes in him and sees this as a bump in the road.
7: David Davalillo
Davalillo comes from a strong baseball family. He looks to add onto that legacy and is trending that way. He has torn up High-A and Double-A on his way to getting closer that big call up to MLB.
8: Caden Scarborough
Scarborough is trending way up this season. He is a major name to watch for the future and survived the sell off of pitching at the trade deadline. The front office thinks a lot of the towering right hander.
9: Josh Owens
The fourth-round pick in 2025 is ranked shockingly high for not being a top two round pick. He is incredibly intriguing as there is a plan in place to develop as a two-way player. He could potentially be the biggest name to watch in the near future.
10: Elorky Rodriguez
After receiving the biggest international signing bonus in the 2025 class, the 17-year-old has been on fire in the Arizona Complex League. He could potentially be Walcott's successor for top prospect in the system in the coming years.
Other notable Rangers' prospect rankings
11: Malcolm Moore
Injuries and a slow start have made 2025 very bumpy for the former first-round pick. It is no surprise to see him fall in the rankings but is nothing to panic about long-term.
14: Emiliano Teodo
By far the most disappointing prospect this season. Suffering from injuries and his transition to the bullpen have derailed his campaign to the big leagues. Hopefully he can turn it around in 2026.
18: Abimelec Ortiz
Ortiz has been on fire recently as he tries to push his way onto the big league club by September and they could certainly use his scorching hot bat any day now.
20: Seong-Jun Kim
Another two-way player was the consolation player for not landing Roki Sasaki during the offseason Texas took the international money they saved and spent it on Kim, speaking to how high Chris Young and the organization view Kim.
24: Cody Freeman
Freeman is less of a prospect and more of a "When do we give him another chance?" He got some run already in Arlington in July and is surging at a good time. He is likely to be called up again soon and if his numbers in Triple-A indicate anything, he will be a regular contributor.
