There aren't too many more superlatives we can heap on Rangers' ace Jacob deGrom as he continues to put together one of the best seasons ever by a Texas pitcher.
At 9-2, with a 2.13 ERA, .089 WHIP and 100 strikeouts in 101 innings, deGrom appears to be getting stronger as the year goes on, which is particularly encouraging as he continues to look 100% healthy from major reconstructive surgery.
Jacob deGrom had a spectacular month of June
His performance in June was one of the best single months in the organization's history. In five starts, he went 4-0 with an 1.41 ERA, good enough for seventh all-time behind Charlie Hough, Kevin Millwood, Matt Harrison and Yovani Gallardo.

deGrom continues to be a shining light for a team that has struggled to score and wobbled to a 43-44 record heading into a West Coast road trip that will take them to San Diego and L.A.
He will miss Fernando Tatis, Manny Machado and the rest of the Padres as his next start is scheduled for July 7 to open a three-game set with division rival Los Angeles Angels.
deGrom wants to finish the first half of the season strong
There is no doubt that the big right-hander will look to continue his June success as the calendar turns to July, as he must be eying a third Cy Young award to go with his two from his time in the National League with the New York Mets
After his Monday start in L.A., deGrom will close out the first half of the season in a key series against the Houston Astros on July 12.
There will be no break for the 37-year-old Rangers ace, however, as he is a shoo-in to be named to the 2025 All-Star Game being held at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves.
