As the Texas Rangers continue their red-hot streak despite suffering one injury after another, the offense is about to get a valuable reinforcement. With Marcus Semien, Evan Carter, and Corey Seager likely out for the season, the return of Jake Burger couldn't be coming at a better time.

Burger could even be back with the Rangers on Monday, just as the team begins a rough stretch where they're going to need all the offense they can get. Texas is officially back in the race after looking dead in the water, but one has to wonder how long the offense can keep rolling along the way it has of late.

Jake Burger could rejoin the Rangers as soon as Monday after wrist injury

Burger, who's been sidelined since August 18 with a left wrist sprain, left the Rangers in the midst of their series against the Athletics at Sutter Health Park to continue his rehab at the team's Surprise, Ariz. complex. He hit in the cages and on the field before Saturday's game and faced live pitching in Arizona on Sunday.

"Jake’s doing well," Bochy said before Sunday's series finale in West Sacramento. "He had a really good session [Saturday] in the cage and on the field in BP."

Burger had been one of the team's hottest hitters before he had to leave an August 17 game against the Toronto Blue Jays with what was originally classified as wrist discomfort. He slashed .467/.529/.667 in the seven games before his injury and had yielded a 1.097 OPS in 21 second-half games.

The Texas Rangers' slugger was one of the big pickups this winter, but he'd struggled with performance and injuries over the summer. Hopefully, he can pick up where he left off before his latest injury.
