While the Texas Rangers are busy trying to get on track early in the 2024 season, preparations for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game have been well under way in Arlington as Globe Life Field will play host to the festivities this year. The Rangers home field has only hosted the All-Star Game once back in 1995, so fans can expect the team to pull out all the stops.

At the moment, exact details for the ASG festivities have yet to be released, but here is everything that is known thus far, including the schedule and how to watch all of the events (as information becomes available).

2024 MLB All-Star Game Weekend Schedule

All of the All-Star Break festivities will take place from Friday, July 12, 2024 to Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in Arlington, TX. For those that just want to experience the All-Star Game atmosphere but are unable to attend a specific event or just want to hang out with like-minded baseball fans, the Capital One MLB All-Star Village will be open from Saturday, July 13 to Tuesday, July 16 with fun activities for all ages.

Here is a brief look at the events on tap with notes on the day that they will take place (times to be determined).

  • HBCU Swingman Classic - Friday, July 12
  • MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game - Saturday, July 13
  • All-Star Futures Game - Saturday, July 13
  • Gatorade All-Star Workout Day - Monday, July 15
  • T-Mobile Home Run Derby - Monday, July 15
  • MLB All-Star Game - Tuesday, July 16

That is a loaded schedule of fun for baseball fans that are able to attend as well as those watching at home, with the Home Run Derby being a fan favorite for many, many years.

2024 MLB Draft: Schedule and How to Watch

You may have noticed that nothing appeared on the schedule for Sunday, July 14, 2024 and that was not by accident because that is the first day of the 2024 MLB Draft, where the first two rounds will take place at the ASG site. The entire draft (all 20 rounds) will take place from July 14-16.

Previously, the schedule had the first two rounds happening the night of the first day, rounds 3-10 on day two, and the rest on day three in a rapid fire. MLB Network always broadcasts the draft both on cable (and it's streamed on MLB.com), although it's possible other networks could weasel some coverage in as well. Exact times have yet to be determined for the start, but fans can bet on a primetime broadcast for the first day and then afternoon broadcasts days two and three.

How to Watch the 2024 MLB All-Star Game

The short answer is that if you have a streaming or cable package that has MLB Network, Fox, and the usual national networks, you will be in good shape because MLB is going to want to get as many eyeballs on the game as possible. So far, details haven't been announced as to exactly what network(s) will be carrying the game and what time it will start, but Fox broadcasted the game last year and, again, the All-Star Game will be happening in prime time.

As soon as these scheduling details are finalized and announced, this post will be updated with that information.
