Christmas Wish for the 2024 Texas Rangers
It is never too late to send Santa our Christmas List. Just days away from Christmas this is what should be on Texas' list for Christmas this year.
Schools have let out for the year, work is wrapping up for 2024, and Santa is preparing to head off to grant Christmas wishes all over the globe. The Texas Rangers have been busy and have procrastinated putting together a list. They have spent a lot of time celebrating the World Series championship and putting together a team that can win another one in 2024. We are now four days away from Christmas and Chris Young is sitting down at the desk in his office and decides to finally write his letter to Santa for what the Texas Rangers want for Christmas. The paper is laid out in front of him and he starts to write.
Dear Santa Clause,
I don't know you if watch television at the North Pole, but the Texas Rangers won the World Series. I know I couldn't believe it myself. Now the pressure is on to win another one. I thought I would write to you to see if you can help us out. I have three things that I really want for this team for Christmas. That is your thing is reading lists and giving gifts.
First, please give us a media rights deal. This uncertainty with Bally Sports is causing some serious issues when it comes to our off-season spending. We would like to bring in some talent in the rotation and the bullpen. I don't really care who it is with whether it be with Bally, Amazon, or to be subsidized by MLB. We just need an agreement to be reached. If you have any power to push that along that would be great.
Second, give good health to what is left of the starting rotation through the winter. The last thing Texas needs right now is to lose another pitcher for a significant time. Texas will already be without Jacob deGrom, Max Scherzer, and Tyler Mahle to start the season. Texas needs Nathan Eovaldi, Jon Gray, Andrew Heaney, Dane Dunning, and Cody Bradford to maintain good health. If that is their rotation to start the season then they can win enough games to stay in the race. If there is news about any of those five missing more time it will be very difficult for Texas to assemble a good enough rotation to be competitive. Lets hope that these five pitchers go to spring training healthy and start the season healthy,
Third, Santa we need more pitching. I don't know if you read that last paragraph, but our pitching is extremely thin. If you could put Jordan Montgomery under the tree that would be great. What about a trade for Shane Bieber or Dylan Cease would be amazing as well. If it has to be Sean Manaea or Frankie Montas then we wouldn't return that to the store after Christmas. We would maybe wait until July. Santa, we need pitching. Whoever you can place under our tree will be acceptable to us.
Finally, just know that we have been really good this year. Like we won the World Series good. I know our bullpen was bad from April through September, but I hope you do not hold that against us. Our offense was one of the best. That and the World Series title should put us on the nice list when handing out presents this year. I am sorry for the late notice and I hope this letter finds you in time.
