It's parade time in Texas! When does it start, what TV channel is it on, and more
The World Series champions returned to Texas yesterday and today will celebrate with a victory lap parade!
The Texas Rangers finished off the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games, to capture the organizations first every World Series title on Wednesday. Fans that had tickets to a possible Game 6, that would have been held tonight might have been a little sad, but only slightly. With the long wait that the fan base has had to endure, if the Rangers had clenched the title on a different planet, I am pretty sure that everyone would have still been elated.
So instead of sweating out a Game 6 and hoping that the Rangers would win, fans get to come down to the Arlington Entertainment District and bask in the glory of seeing their team cruise around with the Commissioner's Trophy.
Texas Rangers World Series winning parade: When is it and where will it be?
The parade itself will begin approximately at 12:15 CT. As far as the route, it will be a roughly 1.9-mile loop that will go around both Globe Life Field and the old Globe Life Park (currently Choctaw Stadium). The parade will begin and end close to the home plate entrance of Globe Life Field and first work its way west before taking a turn to the north.
After the parade is over the team will talk to the fans outside of Texas Live! in the parking lot. There will also be several locations that will have viewing screens setup.
It is hard to know how many people will show up to this event, but there is bound to be a massive amount turn out. With that in mind, it would be advisable to show up early, and please make sure that you are patient and keep yourself and your fellow Rangers faithful safe. This is a great time to celebrate, but please do so responsibly.
Where to park for the Texas Rangers parade?
All of the parking lots that are outside of the parade route will be open at 8am and will be free of charge.
