Texas Rangers run differential record
The Texas Rangers are having success at the plate this year and it showed in the first 28 games of the season. The 1998 Rangers team had a +58 run differential and this year's squad shattered that record. The 2023 Rangers set a +72 run differential through the first 28 games of the season. I have personally not seen a run differential that high since I've been covering baseball. Let's hope the Rangers can keep killing it at the plate.
Josh Jung winning AL Rookie of the Month
Josh Jung was recently just named the American League Player of the Month. Jung finished the month with a batting average of .270 which was second among rookie players in the American League. He also finished first in home runs, RBIs, and runs. It was sad when he got injured during the preseason last year because fans knew he was ready for the big leagues. Sometimes, the wait for a top prospect to make the 40-man roster is worth the wait.
Rangers Trade Zack Littell to Boston
The Rangers made a trade today that some Round Rock Express fans might find sad. It was announced today that the Rangers would be trading Zack Littell to the Boston Red Sox for cash considerations. Littell had a 2.25 ERA over 12 innings pitched with the Express this season. I'm actually kind of surprised that the Rangers traded him. I guess the cash consideration Boston offered was too good for the Rangers to pass on. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
