Major League Baseball opened up the All-Star game voting on Wednesday. This is the first round of voting and it will last until June 22nd. If you want to vote this link will take you to the All-Star ballot. At that point finalists will be announced and the starters will be elected in voting that will occur from June 26th-June 29th. The Texas Rangers are the second-best team in the American League and if fans vote they will have players represented at every position in the finals. I want to go over the case for these four Texas Rangers and why they deserve to be voted into the All-Star game in Seattle next month. I will say I think more than four deserve to be there, but these four players have the best case to be voted in as starters for the All-Star game.

Vote for Jonah Heim

Jonah Heim was a snub last season after he had a great offensive first half. He was left off in favor of his former teammate Jose Trevino. Heim has increased his offensive production this season and is not taking a back seat to anybody this season. Heim is the best all-around catcher in the American League.

Heim this season offensively has been a top 3 catcher right behind Adley Rutschman and Salvador Perez. No one in the American League has played as many games as his 44 at catcher this season. He is just now coming out of a slump. He still leads all catchers in RBI's and has a .370 batting average with runners on base. Finally, Heim is the starting catcher of the first-place Texas Rangers. He handles a starting pitching staff that has the second best ERA in the major leagues.

There is no reason why he should be snubbed this season. The offensive numbers are there, the defensive numbers are there, and the team is winning. Fans need to be voting as much as they can and make sure that Heim is not left out of the game this season.

Vote for Marcus Semien

This is an easy one. Semien should not just be an All-Star, he is making a case to be the American League MVP. When Corey Seager went down with the hamstring injury that kept him out for a month, Semien stepped his game up and made sure that the team did not miss a beat. He has been the best offensive and defensive second baseman.

Marcus Semien currently leads all second basemen in batting average at .295, RBI's at 44, hits at 67, OPS at .851, walks with 26, and doubles with 15. His wins above replacement is second among all players in major league baseball at 3.2. That is right behind Wander Franco at 3.4.

He is having an undisputably great season and deserves to be voted in as a starter. He missed out last season, because he got off to a slow start. That is not the case this season and he has earned the honor. He last was named the starter in 2021 and that is the only time in his career he has made the All-Star team. He should be the starter in the game, but that can only happen if Texas Rangers fans swarm the online voting.

Vote for Adolis Garcia

The case for Garcia to be voted in among other American League outfielders is strong. He still leads the American League in RBI's. He is top three in home runs. He has evolved his game to be more patient at the plate and has 19 walks on the season. He is looking to go back to the All Star game. He was chosen as a reserve back in 2021.

Garcia is much better at home than on the road and the Rangers are entering a month where they will play a majority of their games at home. Expect his numbers to climb back up this month. He has 10 home runs just at home and four on the road. I expect in June that he he will have a great month and there will be no question that Garcia is an All-Star.

Garcia has become a true fan favorite for the Rangers. His 5-5, 3 home-run game back in April will go down as one of the best individual nights in Texas Rangers history. His play in the outfield speaks for itself. He plays with a passion that is contagious among his teammates and fans alike. Fans need to back up their love of Garcia by voting for him as much and as often as they can.

Vote for Josh Jung

It is not often that rookies get All-Star consideration, but Jung is deserving among all third basemen in the American League. Josh Jung leads all AL third basemen in hits, is second in batting average at .295, is second in home runs at 12, tied for second in RBI's with 37, first in OPS at .872, and second in WAR at 2.0. It is rare for a rookie to have this strong of a case, but Jung is making his case hard to ignore.

Jung is competing with Rafael Devers, Matt Chapman, Jose Ramirez, and Alex Bregman. Each of those four players has either started in the All-Star game or been chosen as a reserve. Jung is just in his rookie season and does not have the name recognition to general fans that those four players have.

If Ranger fans want to see Josh Jung representing the Rangers in Seattle they have to vote. There is no guarantee that he would be picked as a reserve. Fans have to vote every day. Jung is putting up numbers that are rare for a rookie and he is sitting in good position to win the Rookie of the Year award. He also should be honored as an All-Star as well. Rangers fans should vote and make sure that he makes it to the final round of voting and then into the All-Star game.
