The Texas Rangers lost their series finale on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers 1-0 after the game ended on a controversial replay review of a stolen base. Now fans are upset over a clear lack of understanding when it comes to reviews.

After a tremendous 11 combined shutout innings from Tyler Mahle and Tyler Glasnow on Sunday, the game remained scoress after seven innings. The scoreless tie was only broken when Freddie Freeman drove in the game's first and only run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth.

Down 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Wyatt Langford led off the inning with an infield single. They looked ready to threaten but were shut down 1-2 after that and Jake Burger found himself as the last out of the game.

Looking to get into scoring position, Langford took off for second base and while he clearly beat the throw his foot appeared to pop off the bag and Miguel Rojas's glove was right there and he was called out.

With nothing to lose, Texas decided to challenge. In real time, it looked like he was out, but looking back at the replay, it looked as Rojas didn't keep the tag on Langford and he was able to get his foot back on the bag. Everyone in both dugouts, players on the fields, both broadcast booths and fanbases seemed to come to the conclusion that he was indeed safe.

But for some reason, the replay review center in New York came back with the decision that the out call stood and the game was over.

Reactions from around baseball left people confused. Some questioned what is the point of replay review if the replay center was still going to get the call clearly wrong. It also sparked several debates between Dodgers and Rangers fans.

I think everyone in the league can agree that the implementation of replay review has been overall positive. With the advancement in technology it only made sense to introduce it into the game when they did.

Believe it or not, this wasn't even the most egregious missed call Sunday afternoon. In the series finale of the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees game, Aaron Judge clearly hit his 8th home run of the season.

The ball was a good 15-20 feet over the fence and looked to well fair. However, the ump crew called it foul. New York of course challenged it, and somehow it was still ruled a foul ball. Now I can understand the bang-bang play from the Langford steal being initially called out, but the Judge homer was a good distance fair even in real time.

Despite the bad call in to end Sunday's Rangers game let's get one thing clear. The caught stealing may have ended the game but it's not why Texas lost. They lost because Texas decided to only record five hits and get shutout for the second time in three games.

That's not a one series thing either to start the year. Currently, Texas is tied for dead last in Major League Baseball with 67 runs scored. This performance is clearly not going to cut it if they are looking to make a serious run back to the postseason.

Good news is that there is time to make adjustments. If they can change their offensive approach and get the bats going, they will be fine. But if they can't make adjustments, they don't deserve to make the playoffs.
