More good than bad.

The Texas Rangers' season on offense has been defined in large part due to injury. The Rangers rank 24th in runs scored with 239, 21st in OPS with a .696 mark, and 17th in homers with 60. The lack of firepower has been what has held the club back from separating itself from its peers in the crowded AL West.

There's good news, though. Help is on the horizon. Of the Rangers' major remaining injuries, we have some positive updates on two key players who will bolster the offense, though it is tempered by a not-so-great update for the bullpen.

Rangers are setting up to get a huge boost as Corey Seager begins a rehab assignment

Seager, when healthy, hasn't performed up to his lofty standards so far in 2026. It was a problem, but one that shouldn't be of grave concern due to his lengthy history of being among the game's best players.

Performance has never truly been an issue with Seager aside from the understandable slump here or there. What is always top of mind, however, is whether the 32-year-old can stay healthy.

After going on the IL with a sore back on May 18 (retroactive to May 15), Seager progressed more slowly than Texas had hoped, yet another ongoing issue for the superstar shortstop.

Fortunately, we can report that today, June 2, Seager is officially in the home stretch of his recovery as he begins a rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco. This opens his 20-day window for activation, which means an influx of talent into the Rangers' scuffling lineup is on the horizon.

We'll have to hope that Seager is able to return quicker than the full 20 days, and of course, we'll be holding our breath that he has no setbacks as he gets back to business. Texas is going to need his bat back at prime form sooner rather than later to start pulling away from its AL West foes.

Wyatt Langford's return to the Rangers is on the horizon

Like Seager, Langford got off to a disappointing start this season, but we're hopeful that the time off is a blessing in disguise for the dynamic 24-year-old. Getting him back to his 2025 form, or even better, seeing him take the next step in his development, would be a huge boost to the Rangers' impotent outfield.

It's been tough sledding for the youngster, who reaggravated his forearm injury during his first attempt at a rehab stint. He started on the comeback trail yet again on May 30 at Round Rock and will join Seager today in Frisco.

The excellent news is that he's expected to return to the Rangers at the start of the next homestand, which begins on Friday, June 5, against the Cleveland Guardians. If Seager isn't too far behind him, we could see a radically different lineup as things begin to heat up in Arlington.

The Rangers make a procedural move by transferring Robert Garcia to the 60-day IL

Robert Garcia never looked right this year, as he threw eight innings and walked seven batters before being placed on the 15-day IL with shoulder inflammation. It's been an unfortunate development, as the Rangers have lost a reliable strikeout arm from the bullpen mix.

Garcia began throwing work at the beginning of May, but still hasn't progressed enough to begin a rehab assignment. The Rangers transferred him to the 60-day IL in order to open up a 40-man roster spot for reliever Robby Ahlstrom.

We were planning on seeing Garcia back in action until the end of June anyway, and this move confirms it. In the meantime, we'll get to see another southpaw with some strikeout stuff get a shot as Ahlstrom prepares for his big league debut
