MLB.com's Kennedi Landry announced injury updates on key Texas Rangers players Corey Seager, Josh Jung, and Danny Jansen on Friday. Luckily, all three players are expected to fully recover to start regular offseason work.

Rangers SS Corey Seager undergoes elbow surgery

Seager underwent elbow surgery, per Landry. Last week, Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young said the star shortstop was dealing with a bone spur in his right elbow. The surgery reportedly happened on Tuesday.

Seager, 32, had a disappointing season overall. He appeared in just 102 games this year due to lower back inflammation and a concussion. He didn't miss any time due to his elbow issue.

The shortstop posted 2.1 fWAR and a .227/.312/.424 (106 wRC+) slash line with 20 home runs and 51 RBI this year. Those aren't bad numbers, but they're not great for a player in the middle of a $325 million contract. On the bright side, he had a strong second half of the season, slashing .269/.332/.472 over 51 games.

Rangers 3B Josh Jung won't need surgery

Jung suffered a right-hand fracture after being hit by a 94.6 mph four-seam fastball from Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan on the hand/wrist in the first game of the final series of the season. According to Landry, Jung won't need surgery for his fracture.

Jung landed on the injured list on July 25 with a left calf strain. Texas activated him on Sept. 12.

Despite his long IL stint, Jung ranked third on the team in fWAR (3.2) behind utilityman Ezequiel Duran (4.4) and right-handed starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (4.3). Jung slashed .299/.365/.462 with 12 home runs and 42 RBI over 104 games this year. Unfortunately, he struggled defensively, posting -12 Defensive Runs Saved.

With top infield prospect Sebastian Walcott knocking at the door of his MLB debut, the Rangers may consider trading Jung this offseason. Jung, 28, is under team control through 2028.

Rangers catcher Danny Jansen undergoes procedure

Jansen, 31, underwent a procedure to remove a bone growth in his right hand on Wednesday, according to Landry.

The Rangers signed Jansen to a two-year, $14.5 million contract last offseason. The deal hasn't worked out so far.

Jansen missed significant time with a forearm strain and elbow inflammation this year. He appeared in just 67 games.

Jansen underperformed in his limited action with Texas this year, hitting .203/.296/.381 with eight home runs and 26 RBI, though it should be noted that after coming off the IL on August 18 through the end of the season, he hit .257/.329/.500. He and Logan O'Hoppe will likely split time at catcher next year.
