The Texas Rangers finally brought some offense in a much-needed win against the New York Yankees. However, they weren't able to come out of it unscathed, with star right fielder Brandon Nimmo leaving during the fifth inning with a hamstring injury.

Following the win, Nimmo insisted that he and manager Skip Schumaker are just being cautious with the injury and he expects to be fully available to kick off the series in Detroit on Friday.

"In the past when I've tried to push through it, it turns into something bigger. So Skip and I were talking about it, and he said, 'Missing half of a game is better than missing a few weeks,' Nimmo said postgame. "...it's more of being cautious and not trying to push it and make it bigger than what it should be."

Rangers should be glad that Brandon Nimmo won't miss time

The morning after, Nimmo's words are ringing true. So far, there have been no indications of any kind of adjustment to the lineup heading into the series against the Tigers.

It's a good thing that he won't miss time, because since being acquired in a trade involving Marcus Semien, Nimmo has really taken a liking to the city of Arlington. It's been thrown under the radar recently due to Josh Jung's hot streak, but Nimmo has been the best and most consistent player at the plate for the Rangers this season.

His .290 average, second-best on the team, still doesn't even tell the whole story of his contributions. Nimmo has been producing literally the entire season, through thick and thin. Even back when Jung looked like a fish out of water, he was still producing at the leadoff spot.

There's been such a turnaround vibe-wise with his arrival as well that many have been left wondering what Semien was doing in the locker room. The team just didn't look and feel like this last year, despite them currently being third in the American League West.

Now that the Rangers' offense might finally be awake, it's time for Nimmo and the rest of the squad to strike while the iron is hot. Hopefully after the series in Detroit, they will have found a way back atop the division.
