The 2025 Texas Rangers continue to take hit after hit and the latest involves outfielder Evan Carter.
Revealed on Friday afternoon, Carter will likely miss the remainder of the season due to a wrist fracture he suffered in the series finale against Kansas City. He was hit on the hand by a pitch from the Royals' Daniel Lynch IV in the seventh inning of Texas's 6-4 loss.
Carter's injury is exclamation to a second-straight disappointing season for Rangers
For Carter the season hasn't been close to what he hoped it would be. After missing the majority of 2024 with a lingering back issue, he struggled to find his footing in spring training and started the season with Triple-A Round Rock.
He was eventually recalled on May 6 and has since been placed on the injured list three times this year, prior to the fractured wrist. The 22-year-old only appeared in 63 games for Texas and hit .247 with 5 home runs, 25 RBIs, 2 triples and 14 stolen bases.
Evan Carter could be out for the year, per Bruce Bochy on @1053TheFan.

This adds to a long-list of not just injuries but lack of offensive production from the Rangers this season. Severely underperforming all year, Texas is one of the bottom 5 offenses in MLB. With 33 games to go and 5.5 games back of an AL Wild Card spot, it's hard to see this season extending beyond Game 162.
Especially with the injury to Carter and Adolis Garcia currently on the IL, that lives a big gap in the outfield that will have to filled with minor leaguers to close out the year. There is also a slight possibility that Marcus Semien will need a trip to the IL, which will open more holes in the everyday lineup down the stretch.
Texas begins a three-game set against the Guardians on Friday, a team 2.5 games up on them in the AL Wild Card standings, but still remain multiple teams ahead of them for just three spot.
