The Texas Rangers are currently facing a situation uncommon to baseball in Arlington, Texas: rain.
Texas is set to kick off a three-game set against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday, but rain has caused a bit of an issue all day in the northeast. Around 20 minutes before first pitch, the Rangers announced the game would be delayed. The Rangers say the first pitch will move to 6:15 p.m. CT.
Rain has been hitting the New England area all day on Tuesday but forecasts say the rain will start to slow around 6-9 p.m. CT, before picking back up around 10 p.m. CT.

Rangers vs. Red Sox Rain delay, May 6: First pitch delayed to 6:15 p.m. CT
When the game does resume, Nathan Eovaldi will take the mound at Fenway Park to face the Red Sox for the 12th time in his big league career. Eovaldi, a former Red Sox spent the 2018-2022 seasons with Boston, winning a World Series in 2018 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Eovaldi is 2-2 on the season with a 2.11 ERA, 46 strikeouts and a 0.77 WHIP in 42 2/3 innings of work this season.
On the other end, Lucas Giolito will take the mound after making his Red Sox debut on April 30 against the Blue Jays. He threw five scoreless innings in that outing before surrendering a pair of homers in the sixth inning.
The Rangers look to get back on tack after a slow start to the year where the offense ranks bottom 5 in most categories. Tuesday's game will be the first game for new hitting coach Bret Boone, who was hired to replace Donnie Ecker after he was dismissed from the team on Sunday. Texas will also get outfielder Evan Carter back from Triple-A and he will bat 8th and play centerfield.
Stay tuned for more updates.
